We meet weekly for 50-minute sessions, focusing on emotional regulation, self-esteem, behaviour management, and reducing avoidance, among other skills. The program is tailored to your unique needs, integrating evidence-based approaches from DBT, ACT, and CBT.

Due to the short term nature of this therapy (10-weeks) ideally you won’t need to cancel or reschedule. That being said, sometimes life happens and this is unavoidable.
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment we need at least 48-hours notice otherwise you will be charged for the missed session. For example, if your session is scheduled for Friday at 9AM you must to let us know that you will not be able to make before Wednesday at 9AM.
If you cancel a rescheduled appointment you will still be charged for the session even if you abide by the 48-hour notice.
-
You will be provided with a receipt for each session which include the date and time of your appointment, the amount charged, and your psychologists license number.
In general, this is all an insurance company will require. Should your insurance require additional information, speak to your individual therapist.

Before your first session, take a moment to reflect on your goals and any current challenges. Think about what you would like to achieve through therapy and any questions you may have. This will help you get the most out of your initial session.
Therapy is a challenging process.
In our sessions we will discuss aspects of your emotions, personality, word choices, and presentation, that you may never have given a second thought.
You can best prepare for therapy by keeping your mind open, being willing to look at the choices/behaviours/actions that are not “working” for you, and applying the tools from therapy in your life.
